For the next 48 hours only, 118% of all profits from my program 18in18: lessons from the tao, will be donated directly to the Jimmy Fund for pediatric cancer research.
I’m hosting this event to coincide with the annual WEEI / NESN Jimmy Fund Radio Telethon, which is hosted in part by the Boston Red Sox and supports the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
The Jimmy Fund is a pediatric cancer research and patient care arm of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, one of the most well-esteemed and globally-renowned organizations for cancer research, fundraising and patient treatment.
Why the Jimmy Fund?
The Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon has raised millions of dollars every year for pediatric cancer research, and has become an real institution of the greater New England area and for all Boston sports fans.
The Radio-Telethon is one of my most motivating times of the year: you needn’t look further for inspiration, humility, and determination to do good than these kids who are fighting for their lives.
- Over the last 2 years, I have helped raise money through my networks for the Jimmy Fund.
- This past May, I raised $1200 for wounded military veterans by running in the Red Sox Run To Home Base 9k road race.
Now, I want to up the ante and encourage you to give by giving you something cool in return.
I’ll make no profits whatsoever from this initiative — I’m digging into my own pockets to donate 100% of the $9 you spend on 18in18, plus another 18% out of my wallet!
How the 48 hour event works:
1. Between today, August 29 at 9:00 AM EST and Wednesday, August 31 at 9 AM EST to 18in18.com and subscribe to the 18in18 program for just $9.
2. You will get 18 days of daily emails, every morning at 6AM, with:
- a powerful quote from the Tao te Ching,
- a life-lesson and explanation about the quote, hand-crafted by yours truly,
- an affirmation and journal prompt, for you to write your thoughts and apply the quote to your life, today,

3. I’ll donate 118% of all profits made to the Jimmy Fund Radio Telethon!
The lump-sum donation will be made by me this Wednesday, August 21 2011, so it can contribute to the final fundraising total :)
